GFIWinte rSeries:Rou 4 nd Hat trick for Dubach at LACR By Tony Alessi PALMDALE, CA, FEB. 5 OUg Dubach did the unthinkable at round four of the GFI winter series by winning six out of the six motos that he entered en route 10 an impressive triple class victory at Los Angeles Cou nty Raceway. Dubach's "ha t Irick " incl uded w ins in the 125cc Pro, 250cc Pro and 30+ Pro classes, a performanc e not see n d uring any previou s GFI Wint er Series rounds . Argu ably the best race of the day w as the 125cc Pro race, which iro nically was second to the last race of the d ay. A lI eyes we re focuse d on Team Gree n ProA m r ac er C a se y Johns on a n d Te am O' Neal's Dub ach . The pair did not disappoint, wagin g all-ou t war during the first 125cc Pro moto. The tw o excha nged the lead too many times 10 count with the moto win coming right d own to the wi re. Wit h the checker ed flag in sig h t and so me lappers in the way, the tw o sto rme d in to the jump-filled finis h-li ne straightaw ay side by side. But Johnson made a terrible mistake. " I thought 1 had it won," Joh ns on said . "Then I tried to go around a lapper and bogged and went off the track ." Dubach threw his hand in the air as he took the win. By the time that the second 125cc Pro moto rolled around late in th e day, DUbach had already raced and wo n five mo tes , topping bo th the 250cc and 30+ Pro classes. "Really it's a 50-50 call," Dubach said before th e start of the second moto "I know the track better bu t he (johnson) is fresher. It's going to come down to who wants to win more." Don Upton ho leshot.the second moto but was quickly passed by Johnson and Du bach. The two again went at it ham mer and tong. wi th Johnson lead ing the fir st fo ur la p s . Dubach dogge d the Kawasaki rider in every tum off every jump and through every whoop section and finally mad e the pass. Jo hnson stay ed within striking distance for the remainder of the race, bu t Dubach rode perfectly to secure the moto and overa ll l..~ victory. D Results 50 (4 · 6) STK: 1.
