On Sunday, February 5 a benefit trail ride was given for injured 0-36 veteran Charles Halcomb in Clear Creek, California, wi th some 230 supporters att ending the e vent. H a lcomb, w h o w as injured in the No vember running of the Baja 1000, is currently recuperating at his home in Santa Cruz, Californi a. Over $11,000 was raised to help Halcomb and his family through his recovery. Road racers Mark McDaniel and Dave Deveau have renewed th eir contracts with Cycle Motion Racing fo r 1995 . McDaniel and Deveau will race in the AMA SuperTeams Endu rance Se r ies with McDaniel also slated to compete in 750cc Supersp ort . The team w ill be backed by Team Suzuki Sport and w ill run a GSXR1100 in the endurance series and a GSXR7SO in 750cc Supersport. Former Grand National Di rt Tra ck engine builder/tuner Jimmy Cla rke is in intensive care fr om complications stemming from quadruple bypass surgery on January 31. The FIammini Group, organizers of the World Superbike Championship, held a meeting with race team officials on .January 30 , with several initiatives brought to the table. Among those were an official World Superbike test day, which will be held at Misano in Italy on, April 25 for the leading World Superbike Championship teams. Flammini also announced that a World Superbike Shoot-Out will be held on the Monday after the British round of the series at . Donington Park - the race will be an invitational featuring the top riders and teams in the series. Additionally, the Flammini Group has made an official request to the FlM for World Championship st atus to be -given to the 600cc Supersport class in 1996. Tra velCraft has announced its fifth tour to the Spanish Grand Prix, the fourth round of the World Championship Road Race Series. The trip will begin on April 30 and will end on May 8, taking time for sightseeing as well as race watching. Video game fans take note. Sega of America has introduced Motocross Championship for their new Sega Genesis 32X. The game offers three classes 125, 250 and Super Bike - and is scheduled for release on February 15; the game carries a suggested retail price of $59.99. Former 500cc National MX Champion Chuck Su n raced a Husaberg at the Adelanto Grand Prix on February 4, and broke his wrist when he hit a false neutral over a double jump. "I was expecting to have troubles with the off-road sections, but that actually went okay," said Sun . "I didn't think the motocross section would be any problem. It was . just one of those things ." Sun also reported that Sh a un Kal os is planning to campaign a four-stroke 'Berg in the entire National MX Series.
