With series points battles becoming
more and mor e int en se, racers traveled
south to one of California's oldest ra cing facili ties, Barona Oaks Raceway.
Travis Preston nail ed the start of the
first 250cc moto, bu t Lech ien was right
there to quickly snatch away the lead.
Preston was left to battIe with Manneh
and Sp ud Walt ers . Walte rs put the
p re ssure on Manneh early and took
over the third spot during the opening
lap. Walters looked as if he wa s on the
move, but he was never a threat for the
lead.

As the la p s con ti n ue d , Man ne h

With only a few laps rem a in ing, Manneh was all ove r Lechien, doggin g his

"I' m leaving for Europe tomorrow,
and the last th ing m y sponsors wanted
was for me to get hurt," said Manneh.
" Lu ckily my crash was minor and I
didn't get hurt."
Ron "The Dogger" Lech ien gave a good
account of himself at Sarona Oaks
Raceway , bagging overall wins in the
250cc and Vet Pro classes with 2-1 mota
scores in each.
After a sixth-p lace, first -moto finish,

The 125cc Pro action saw Walters
