Team Hondal l ·8oo·Colieers Steve Lamson raced anyway and finished an outstanding fourth. Lamson injured his wrist, bruised some ribs and stretched ligaments in his sternum while practicing for the series opener over three weeks ago. Lamson didn't compete last week in Minneapolis. "I've been going ·to Chapman University (Orange, Califomia) for therapy and they've been doing a great job ·with me: said Lamson afterward. "They taped me up real good so my ribs had ,~~ ~~ a lot of support. My onl y problem ton ight wasn't from my injuries. but from not riding the last three weeks. My arms pumped up right away and I almost endoed one lap from just being tired . I mean, I was wasted . so tired. by about the ninth lap: Then I seemed to get a second wind and smoothed out." "All my friends are be re," said McGrath. "I don't think there's anybody in Murrieta right now, they're all here." And for good reason .
