Moto two was a d ifferent story. Ryan
jumped into the lead, w ith Scott Myers in second. Mat son held third and Jim Cla y fourth.
Brandes rounded ou t the top five. Ryan began to
slow on lap three, and he appeared to be suffe ring some fo rm of mechanical difficulty. He
would eventually finish in the eighth positi on.
Myer s then took over th e lead as he had
done in the first mot o, bu t Matson closed in on
Myers and the two waged a furio us battle for
the lead. A lap and a half later, Matson made his
move on Myers at the top of the elevator shaft,
setting sail for the checkered flag and the moto
win . Myers wo uld settle for second , as it was all
he needed to take the overall the day. Jim Clay,
Spud Walters and Pat Gomm rounded out the
top five in the ~oto. .
