Casey Johnson set a blistering pace in both the
125 and 250cc Pro classes at the Hollister Hill s
SVRA-hosted round four of the GFI Fall Series North.
Rick Ryan was Johnson 's closes t competitor
as the ga te dro pped (or moto one. Johnson took
the ea rly lead wi th Ryan, Rick Alves an d Scott
Davis rig h t on his heels . As they en tere d th e
seco n d tum, Ryan made a move ins ide and took
the spot away, but was set back to seco nd when
Johnson flew p ast him on the spectato r jump.
The two smrted their own private battle as they
gra d ually pulled away from the pack. Johnson
soo n opened up a comfortable lead over Ryan
as he attacked th e gnarly Hollister GP course
wi th see m ingly effortless con trol and d ominance.
Meanwhile, back in the pack, Alvc'Swas d osing on Ryan but soon had a lot of pressure from
Davis . By the end of lap two , Davis got around
Alves and went afte r Ryan. Ricky kept his pace,
though, and would not let Davis close. The moto
ended in that order.
Moto two of the 125cc Pro dass offered Ryan
th e opportunit y to t a ke th e overall , as h e
holes hot the first tum and quickl y put about 10
seco nds on Johnson, Alves and Davis. Alves and
Johns on duked it out for a couple of laps before
John son got by Ryan on lap four and took ove r
th e lead for good. Alves held on to th ird with
Davis giving his all to get by, but it was not to
happen. As the checkered flag flew it was Johnson, Ryan, Alves and Davis, in that order.
The 250cc Pro class w as much of the same
for Johnson, excep t tha t he got a little more trouble from Ryan . When the gate dropped for the
first m oto it was Ryan wi th the holeshot, bu t as
if Johnson was pacing Ryan, he seemed to p ick .
his most com fortab le place to pass and made it
happen, a ga in over the spec tator ju m p . The
moto ended w ith Johnson, Ryan, Nelson, Clay
and Alves rounding out the top five.
Mo ta two started out with yet another Ryan
ho les hot as they ro un ded th e firs t an d second
tu m. Johnson was in pursuit as they we nt over
the spectator jump, but this time Ryan had the
better lin e, an d Johnson was not going to ge t
by. Johnson passed Ryan soo n enough an d took
h is second overa ll win of the day. Ne lson ha d
gotten around O ay and se t out afte r Ryan but
lime ran out and he set tled for a well-d eserv ed
third.

The Team G reen /Clearlake Kaw asaki-sp onsored Elliott had h is hand s full ag ain st Beau

remained attached to Boynton's rear fender for
the en tire race . At times , the two were side by
side ov e r th e ju m p s a nd down th e stra igh taways. But in the end, Boynto n prevailed for the
overa ll moto win, wi th Elliott coming home second overall in the mo to.
Ellio tt picke d up s pee d in moto two. He
