IT.OCT.2 Sven Bl y, organizer of the Indus-Trial, a un ique e trials event set in an industrial park in suburban Chicago, made this yea r's event the best yet. Unlike mo st industrial s ites, Bley USA doesn't have the usual grassy verges around its parking lot. Instead, it has man-made trials sections capable of taking points from even the top riders in the U5. Jess Kempkes of Nebraska, ranked fourth in the country this year, took first in the Championship class from the Midwest's top rider, Dave Rohrschneid er. Bley d idn't do too ba d ly for a once-a-yea r trials rid er, taking third . Bley lays oUI new sectio ns every year, us ing every inch of the property and always find ing some mud to play in. Sections nine and 10 were contin uous , an d p rob ably the hard est for th e lower classes. Section nine featured a sharp tu m o ve r a rock, followed by an off -camber rid e acro ss a log and then several more big logs. Section 10 took you back and forth across some railroad tracks at an angle, through a small swamp and then back acro ss the railroad tracks, which became muddy and didn't oller much traction . Unfortunately, this will be the last event he re as Bley has become invol ved with vin tage road racin g and other thin gs, like his family. Results NOV: 1. Jeut' WeUenstrin (GG) 38; 2.
