The pie is very small and we can't go cutting it up . There's no animos ity , we 've just g iven th em (the A MA ) a chance to get thei r plans together ." Championship Cup Ser ies presi den t Roger Edmondson was also on hand in Florida to meet with race p romoters in a separate meeting from the one held by the AMA. Edmondson , wh ose contract wi th the AMA ran out at the end of the 1994 road racing season, is working on p utting toge ther the North American Superbike Series in 1995. "We were prepared with a lot of info r'm a tton ," AMA vice president Tom Mueller sa id in regard to th e meeting with race prom oters. "Myself, Dee White (operations ma nager), Ron Ba rrick (road race ma naged a nd Merrill Vanderslice (acting director of competition) went there with our marketing plan and other th ings, and we were looking for input from the sites. We haven't had a meeting with promoters in four yea rs, but we never got to the issues at han d . The talks centered on the situation with Roger (Edmondson), and the future. They requested a one-hour break and w e left the room. At that point, they brought Roger in - who was in town to apparently pi gg yback our meeting the next day with his own meeting. When we returned , Jim Haynes spoke for the group and sai d that no further sanctioning or scheduling issues would be resolved until we worked out the Roger situation. At that point there was nothing left to discuss. All the promoters then left town, so they d idn't stay for Roger's meeting either. Now it's back in the AMA's comer as to w hat we do with Roger and how we p repare for th e nex t meeting. It's a shame because the staff put so much work into all the materials we brought to the meeting, and we d idn 't get to show it." Wit h the World Cha mpionship Series over, many changes are ta king p lace inside the observed trials fraternity . Great Britain's Steve Colley has signed a contract to contest the 1995 British and World Championship Tri als Series aboard a Gas Gas jT25O, leaving Do ugie Lam pkin as the sole ' rider on the Screenart Beta team . In signing with the Gas Gas squad, Colley joins six-time World Champion J ord i Tarres a n d Angel Garci a, as well as Joan Pons, who will ride a Gas Gas for the Italian importer. Pon s will contest the Italian National Series, rather than his Spanish Cycle News Rider of the Month: Stephane Peterhansel home-country Nationals. Though not set in stone, it looks as if Marc Colomer and Amos Bilbao will trade places - Colomer going to the Montesa tea m, and Bilbao moving to the Beta camp. Dale Malasek of Gas Gas USA has for sale a total of nine 1994 Gas Gas Enducross motorcycles that were ridden by factory team members at the September 20-25 International Six Days Enduro, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Malasek has five 250s, and four 125s - includ ing the machine that was ridden to victory in the 125cc class by three-time World Champion Paul Edmondson. "They're all in reall y great condition," said Malasek. "They're all fitted with the trick stuff - heavyduty rims, Renthal bars - you name it." The 250s cos t $3900, an d the 125s are $3600. Frenchman Stephane Pe terhansel '(r ig h t ) proved once again that he is without a doubt the most versatile off-road rider in the world, as he scored the overall individual victory in this month's International Six Day Enduro. For Peterhansel, it was the third time in his career that he topped the prestigious event. His most recent ISDE win came on the rockstrewn trails of the John Zink Ranch near Sand Springs, Oklahoma - a far cry from the sa nd dunes of the Paris-Dakar Rally, another brutal event which he has also won three times . Peterhansel's uniquely smooth and precise riding style doesn't gra b a lot of attention, but his effortless speed is also unequaled. Sidi has signed the entire Italian Farioli KTM team, incl u d in g former 500cc Four-Stroke Enduro World Champion Fabio Farioli and current HW Enduro Champion Giovanni Sala, to wear Top Action boots during the 1995 race sea son . ISDE winner Stephane Peterh ansel has tentatively committed to ride the 1995 Acerbis Ad venture Nevada Rally, and says he will most likely cqntest a Yamaha YZ360 .
