their stuff before the official Battle of the Legends race. Again, AHRMA provided a class for everyone who wanted to show up. Winner of the Junior 50S race was Harold Parks, on a 1966 250cc Ducati. The two-stroke Lightweight battle ended with Craig Avery in front. The SoS Senior race was won by [ody Hendlyon a new Dubb s 591, followed by Joe Abe tya on a SRX Yamaha. Don Vesco competed on the Manx and came in a comfortable sixth. Fred Putt led the TwoStroke Heavyweight field. The premier Sound of Singles class, the Open class, was won by Nick Ienatsch. The magazine editor was unbeatable on his Wood-Rotax; he wa s followed home by Bill Giltner on a Yamaha 620 and Hendley on the Dubbs. The Battle of the Twins racers were also di vided up into classes, with the Formula Three racers led by David Colbert on a Honda Hawk and the Formula Two race won by Mike Summers. Formula One was d ominated by new Ducatis, with Tom Terry taking the flag ahead of Kurt Sager and Kyrn Lebaron, Th e Le gends lined up in re verse order from where they finished in Saturda y's heat race. At the drop of the green flag, Vesco got sideways and crea ted a bottleneck. Aldana go t through, but Pridm ore and Erode were stuck in tra ffic. Pridmore wo rked his way up, but was neve r able to ca tch Ald ana a nd Emde was never able to get past fifth . On the last lap, 70s star Don Castro and for me r Harley (and Mustang !) racer Walt Fulton tangled in tum four. Castro landed in the tires, but Fulton managed to sta y up and keep going, Castro was reportedly not bad ly injured , but was taken off the track in an ambulance.
