Belgian Stefan Everts (Kaw) took over the points lead. with a 1-1 win a t his . home 250cc Motocross Grand Prix in Lomrnel, on June 12. South African Greg Albertyn failed to finish a moto, and now sits second in the standings. Home riders took the top three positions, as Belgians Werner DeWit (Suz) and Ma rnicq Bervoe ts (Suz) filled out the podium. Swede Joakim Karlsson (Kaw) and Frenchman Frederic Bolley (Yam) finished fourth and fifth, respectively. Italian Giovanni Sala (KTM) and Finn Kari Tiainen (Hus) took wins in the Heavyweight and Heavyweight FourStroke classes, respectively, at round four of the World Enduro Championship Series in Uppsala, Sweden, on June 11-12. Sala won his division both days, while Tiainen scored 2-1 resuIts. Each increased their respective points leads to 15. Also performing well was Lightweight-class winner Pa u l Ed mo nd so n (G-G). The Brit won Day Two after finishing second to home rider Jeff Nil sso n (Hon) on Day One. Points lead er G io rg io Grasso crashed and suffered internal injuries, and is a doubtful starter for round five next week in Finland. In the Lightweight Four-St roke ca tegory, Italian Mari o Rinaldi (KTM) barely edged Swede Sve n Erik Jo nsso n' (Hus) to score the win. Spaniard Jordi Tarres (G-G) earned his 50th World Round win by topping the field at the June 11-12 French round of the World Championship Trials Series. Japan's Takumi Narita (Bet) was second ahead of Englishman Dougie Lampkin (Bet), while Tommi Ahvala (Fan) and Donato Miglio (G-G) rouded out the top five. Tarres now enjoys a comfortable 28point lead in the series point standings over Ahvala, 108-80. Marc Co l om e r, sixth in France, is third with 76. Paul PinsonnauIt (Hon) and Lou Gerencer Jr. (H-D) were winners in the 540 and 800cc classes, respectively, at the June 12 Bushkill Valley M.e. National Hillclimb in Steel City, Pennsylvania. Rick Sote r (BSA) was second in the 540cc class, .w ith Bru ce Seigert (BSA) third. Tom Reiser (H-D) and Bob Castledine (H-D) filled out the 800cc division podium. Ch ri s Carr (H-D) won round three of . the AMA 600cc National Championship Series, held at the Peoria M.e. Clubgrounds in Peoria, Illinois, on June 12. Scott Parker (H-D) was second, while Aaron Hill (Rtx), Andy Tresser (W-R) and Ben Bostrom (RtX) rounded out the top five. Carr enjoys a healthy 14-point lead over Hill in the series point standings, 40-26. Will D avis (C-A) aced the 600cc Pro class at round three of the Motorcycle Asphalt Racing Series, held in Columbus, Ohio, on June 10. Terry Poovey (Rtx) was the runner-up, followed by Robert Lewis (W-R). Steve Morehead (H-D) was the big winner a t the Old Time Newsies Eastern Regional Half Mile, held June 11 in Day"
