There was an error in the "In the Wind" item that ran in Issue #20 regardi ng the offical race headquarters for the AMA 125 / 250cc National Motocross roun d scheduled for Unadilla. The race promoter, Frank Gera ce, confused the dates of his two races in his press release. The da te for the Unadilla round of the series is July 16-17, w hile the date fo r the Sou th wick, Massa chussetts ro und is June 25-26. The ra ce headqua rte rs fo r the Southwick rou nd is the Holiday Inn, located at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut; the head qu arters for the Unadilla round are the Rad isson Ho tel a n d Best Western/Gateway-U ti ca in New York. Greene, a former AMA 250cc Nation al Champio n w ho fin ished a Twin Sport car eer best fifth at the Phoenix round in March, can be reach ed at 707/ 763-4828. W ith KTM ' s sol e r id er Cliff Pa lmer missing several races follow ing his cras h a t the Dallas Supercross, th e team is looking at adding an other rider for '95, so that one inju ry wo uld n'tput their entire squad on hold. KTM would like to ke ep Palmer next yea r, and tho ugh team man ag e r Sel varaj Na ra ya na wouldn't comment, rumor has it tha t he has his eye on non e other than former factory Kawasaki and Suzuki rider Jeff Matiasevich, cu rrently a Yamaha privateer. KTM would p robably have to lan d an ou tside sponsorship deal to secure "The Chicken." In other KTM news, the Austrian factory is planning to use Marzocchi Magnum conve ntional forks and Ohli ns shoc ks on their '95 production bikes. On the subject of forks, reliable so urces report tha t Hon da will ou tfit th eir '95 prod ucti on CR250s with Kayaba shocks and a Kayaba inverted fork. Honda's '94 250s use Showa sus penders, while their 125s feature Kayaba units. Team riders Jeremy McG rath, Steve Lamson an d Doug Henry ha ve been u sing works Showa suspension thi s season, w hile Jeff Stanton rid es w ith works Kayaba pieces. Morris National Motocross, was flown by jet to California on Friday, June 3, and is now resting in a hospi tal near his home. Kehoe's sponsor, Ho nda of Tro y, pa id for the jet that flew Kehoe home. Kehoe is not paralyzed, but as we were going to press, he w as sche duled for surgery on Wed nesday, June 8, to have stabilizing rods inserted in his back.
