• ~ ~ n an effort to satisfy demand from both d eal ers and conI; . sumers, Honda has released 13 of its 1995 model lineup early: five streetbikes, five off-road motorcycles and three all-terrain vehicles . Although none of the models are new, most feature updates of some sort. Three Honda Shadows will be released early: the Shadow 1100, the Shadow VLX Delu xe and the Shadow VLX. The Shadow 1100 ($8099 twotone/$7799 solid) features four new color combinations: pearl magenta and pearl white;' red with black; and red with pearl white. The Shadow VLX Deluxe ($5499) gets a redesigned handlebar and m ou n ting bosses to improve comfort and styling, and all-new two-tone colors with redesigned tank logos. The only change to the standard Shadow VLX ($5199) is the same handlebar modifications as on the Deluxe. Honda's popular open class supersport bike, the CBR900RR ($9199), will feature a redesigned front fork and fairing, and new colors in '95. The upper fairing will feature a 15mm taller windscreen and a 20mm wider main section. Honda claims the changes will improve rider protection and aerod ynamics. The upper cowl stays will come with an aluminum finish. The fairing will also incorporat e new, p lastic headlights which save some 20% in weight and feature a cut-reflector d esign th at produces a sharply defined light pattern . The flushmounted clear pla stic cover rounds out the changes to the fairing. The front fork on the CBR900 will be fully' adjustable on the new unit, with both rebound and compression damping adjustment and preload adjustment. The fork also features a new valve design to imp rove response. In a further effort to save weight, the CBR gets a magnesium head cover and drilled footpeg guards. The shift lever will also be cast from alu. minum for '95; it will feature an .infinitely adjustable linkage combined with reshaped transmission gears to improve shift action. New graphics will feature black/violet/yellow and white/violett yellow color combinations, The final streetbike which will be introduced early is the 1995 Pacific Coast ($7499). The PC will feature no changes for the coming year. The other new motorcycl es are the off-road XR line - the 600R ($4599), the 250R ($3899), the 200R ($2899), the 100R ($1999) and the 80R ($1799). No mechanical changes have been mad e to the thumpers, but each gets a new look with purple and white graphics. In addition, Honda will release three ATVs early: the Fourtrax 300 4x4 ($4999); the Fourtrax 300 ($4199); and the Fourtrax 200 Type II ($3399).
