Glen Moore led the entire race to capture his
first-ever Handicap main event wi n at the Gold
Co u n try Speedway in Auburn, and Bart Bast
topped the Scratch main .
Lin in g up for the race were Moore on the
ze ro yard line and Harlan Bast Jr. alone on the
30. Sha ring turf on the 40 were Bobby Hicks,
Dustin Schroeder and Robert Curry with Bast
by himself on the SO.
Moore went into the comer first with Harlan
Bast [r., Hicks, and Bart Bast on th e in side:
Curry and Sch roeder were both working the
outside groove. Coming down the front straight,
Curry and Hicks were side by side while Moore
still held the lead. In the next comer, Curry we nt
wid e, allowing Hicks to move into third . Hicks
took the outside line and caught Harl an Bast Jr,
who was able to hold him off for only about a
half a lap before Hicks was able to make the
pas s. Once Hicks got past Bast he began catch ing up with Moore. Go ing down the back
straight on the last lap, Hicks tried the outside
line to pass Moore but couldn't get the drive to
do it. At the checkered flag it was Moore , Hicks
and Harlan Bast Jr.
In the Scratch main, Bart Bast would come
from the pole, Curry drew the number two position, Hicks was in the number~three slot with
Tommy Hedden on the outside. Bast came off
the pole position wi th Hedden on the outside,
going into the first comer side by side. Hedden
got to the next comer and really made a drive to
pull alongside .Bast. In the next comer Hedden
we nt wide, allowing Curry to slip into second .

Raymond Peters d ominted the Expert class during round th ree of the District 4 trials series in
Coming.
Tria ls Master John Jelliff laid out one of the
longest loops tha t the riders have seen in a very
long time. This long loop and its 10 sections with
four rid es caused many of the riders to fail to
complete the even t in the designated time peri od. Those who did fini sh on tim e were challenged and very tired. It also d id not mak e the
ev ent any easie r by ra in in g fo r most of the
morning.
Raymond Peters won the Expe rt class with a
score o f 29 points by usi ng his ability to find
traction when he needed and by being able to
ho p h is motorcy cle in t igh t sections . Mike
Komer placed seco nd in the F. pe rt class w ith a
x
to tal sco re of 61 points . Th e Adv a nced clas s
winner was Mark Bucz kowski with 101 po ints
over Emmell Watkins with 107 poin ts. ' Section
one wa s a good mi x of mud, logs and u ph ills
for the top classes. The section sta rted with a
muddy uphill to a tight left-hand tum, over a
log with a rig ht-hand turn and up another
m uddy, root-laden hill . From he re the section
.beca me very tight and the rider would have to
hop his motorcycle to get lined up for the ride
to the exit. Most of the riders enjoyed the chal lenge of this section, but Peters was the most
effective in it.
The Intermediate Class was won by Charlie
Camin over Ma rk Pe ttit by a sco re of 55-70.
Senio r A Class winner wa s Lavern Bowen with a
tota l score of 38 points.

Over 300 entries gathered to match skills iIl the
D-6 experts points race at the Pagoda MX facility
in eastern Pen nsylva nia. Th e battle of the
expert s was the action not to miss, as Cumberland Kawa saki-sponsored Jeffrey Yen rze r, Ty
Wallace and Gaylon Dickson banged bars in
some wild racing on this warm spring Sunday.
Nineteen of the area 's best riders left the first
2SOcc A gat e in a blaze with Yentzer, Dickson,
and Wallace lead ing the way into the ftrst tu m.
Wallace got clipped and went down. When the
smoke cleared, it was Yentzer and Dickson bat Uing for the the lead , a nd Wallace picking hi mself up at the back of the pack. Wallace quickly
remounted and poured it on, and by the ftfth lap
had worked his way back to third.
Meanwhile, Yentzer and Dickson were sai ling alon g smoo th ly, and without enough lap
time left, Wallace remained third with Yenlzer
winni ng comforta bly in front of Dickson .
In moto two, the tide turned . When the gate
fell, Yentzer, Dickson and Wallace ripped their
wa y around tum one and to the back section followed closely by Dave Kratz and Michael Bear.
Walla ce had h is work cut out for him and spen t
so me time gettin g by Dickson , but on the "Red
Lane" tabletop , Wallace really launched it, passing Dickson in midair a nd landing well below
him goi ng in to the next tum. He then set his
sights on Yentzer.
Yenlzer looked over his shoulder, only to see
Wallace right on h is heels. When they en tered
the long, back straightaway, Wallace pu lled the
sa me move on Yentzer as he had on Dickson
earlier. He nailed the last jump hard, and as the
tw o were in mid air, they disappeared into the
back bowl -turn. When they came out, it was
Wallace up on on e wheel and in the lead .
Yentze r tried to keep up the pace , but Walla ce t u rn ed u p the wick a nd would no t be
ca ught. Yentzer's second-place finish was still
good enough for the overall win . Wallace 's 3-1
finish land ed him second and Dickson's 2-3 captured third.
