Missing MX "works" bikes
I agree co mpletely with Kit Pa lmer's
article (Day Six , Issue #13 - April 6)
abou t ha vin g a "works bike" open class
for four -strokes. I really miss the factory
motocross bikes of the 1970s and early
1980s. If yo u look a t a mo tocross bike
now and a bike th at 's five -years-old,
the y look the same.
I remember going to Carlsbad for the
1971 Trans-AMA and, except for the factory Suzukis, you could get right next to
the factory bikes. Maybe w ith a new
"open four-stroke" class, the y could also
make the pits more accessible than
today so the paying spectator could get
a close look at the bikes.
