OT Master class. Picki ng up the pieces in the OrnG Intermed iate class was John Yates, who put togeth er consisten t rides in all motos to take the overall witho ut winning a single moto, and in spite of a lot of heat from hard-charging Alex Che llew, who wo n both motes on Sunday. The la rges t class of the event, th e OTH G Beginner, was one of the most exciting to watch largely because it was filled with riders of varying skill levels, both sexes, and a few first-tim ers thrown in for good measure. No, they weren't blinding fast, but they endured the torture of the ro ug h Oatfield track a nd they fo rmed little groups, all having thei r own races, which made for some thril ling mom ent s for everyone on and off the track. When the d ust settled on Sunday afternoon, Wayne Mathen y took the overall win wit h Ric k Mikulski keepi ng h im h o n es t b y virtue of a strong second-pla ce finish. Results ornG BEG: 1. The two riders battl ed to the wire w ith Paladino grabbing the win ahead of Meag her, Bloomfield, Gomm and Nicolaus. Mo to two saw Meagh er grab the holeshot, sandwiched between Tyler Hummel on the ou tside and Paladino on the inside. Meaghe r co n tinued to lead the rac e, but not without challe nge from Hummel and Paladino. By the third lap, Paladino had fou nd h is wa y into second p lace, getting aro und Hummel and se tting his sights on Meagher. The rest of the field wa s left to battle for the day's poin ts. Ton y Flores became a player in moto two, wi th the Yamaha rider ba ttling w ith Jon Nicola us throughout to even tually fin ish fourth. Bloomfi eld once again rod e consistently and fin ishe d the mot o in third. Pa ladino showed his detennination to take the overall by ou t-powering Meaghe r a t every op portunity. On his wa y to the victory in mo to two, Paladino spent as mu ch time in the air with outrageous leap s off th e ju m ps as he d id on th e track.
