O ne of the m ost exci ting ra ces of the day came when Tieamey gu ided his Honda into the ha r d le ft - ha n de r, capturing the hole sho t. Michael DiLo reto ran in second, Mike Mason was th ird with Mall Buyten fourth an d Dustin Miller comp leti ng the top five . The two fro ntrunners quickly left the pack whi le waging their own battle, Diloreto sta yed close behind T iearne y, inching his way close r on the straight sections but w ith Tieamey gaining in the turns. Tiea mey led every lap and came up on lappers by lap four , but zipped by them. Buyten ran in fo urth un ti l a th ird -lap pass on Mason, who crashed bu t was able to continue the race . Mille r took ad va ntage, mov in g his way in to fou rth. Diloreto, mean w hile, kep t the pa ce until lapped traffic robbed him of precious seconds needed to catch Tieamey. Tieamey too k the checkered flag and Diloreto finished second. Buyten was third, Miller fourth and Mason fifth. When the ga te d rop ped for the second moto, the riders flew down the straigh t with Diloreto and Tieamey loo king even. Diloreto ed ged ou t Tiearney, who aImost hit a hay bale , but Tlearney's work had only be g un. Th e tw o riders again blazed out fron t. Tum after tu m they swapped positions, both riders d etermin ed to win. Tiea m ey, out front on lap two, opt ed to sin.. gle the step-up d o uble ju m p w he re Dilore to doubled to gain position at th e bottom of the rom. Tieamey got him back in the next tight "5" tum. The two battled in the remaining laps wi th Tieamey conquering the jumps to keep his lead for the remaining two laps and score the win. It looked as though Diloreto started to tire in the turns and he finished second. Miller rode a comfortable third while Buyten su ffered a third-lap cras h and a DNF.
