' According to repor ts from Europe, the man behind the World Championship Su perbike Series, Maurizio Flam m in i, and his Flam mini Group lost some $4.5 million last year on a concert series an d Flammini now needs a partner to help h im fu nd th e 1994 World Superbike Series. Reported ly, Flammini contacted Dorna, the Spanish television marketing company that ru ns the World Championship Ro ad Ra ce Series, b ut th ey we ren 't inte rested in th e superb ike series . Two-time Wo rld Superbike Cham pion and current AMA Na tional Superbike Champ io n Doug Polen has signed a two-yea r contract w ith Shoei he lme ts. Polen, who recently sign ed a con tract to ri d e H onda's ne w RC45 in the 1994 World Superbike Cha mpion shi p, will w ear Shoei's X-8 Air Falcon TC-6 h elm et. The Temecula Motorsports Park has reo pened , and in add ition to a n ew ly designed motoc ross track, the park will also featu re a high-banked d irt ova l and a new Pee Wee motocross track. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, in the Houston Astrodome, but that will change if Houston defeats Kansas City on January 16 and the Buffalo Bills lose to the Los An geles Raiders ,the da y before in Buffalo. If the Raiders defeat Buffalo and Houston bea ts Kansa s City, the Raid ers wi ll play Houston for the AFC Cha mpionship in the Astro do me on January 23 - th us the Houston Supercross would be postponed until February 12. The Tampa Supe rcross, currently sched uled for February 12, wo uld be mov ed to February 19. Early-season events at An aheim and San Diego will not be affected.
