Former Nation al number-hold er Terry Hamn ess also rode above par bu t just couldn 't stay at Ulven 's pace, nor could Honda rid er Don Bisceglia . Bisceglia finis hed second to Ulven in moto one while Hamness fcllowed Ulven ho me in malo two. Ha mness ' 3-2 showings ne tted the KJ( rider second place. Bisceglia did come back to take an ove ra ll win; in th e Up the Hill class, he trad ed wins with Beyer. On the sec ond lap , the d uo of Jones and Patterso n passed Caplin ger and continued their charge. Patterson took over the lead on the third lap and we.n t uncontested to th e win. Ken Stallings led every lap except for the one that counted - he bent his Kawaski's front end in a deep ravine on the last lap .
