In M idd leweight a n d Li ghtw ei gh t GP, Foster controlled the races. Foster too k a n ea sy pace in the Lightweigh t to show lines to Billy Borselli, a rooki e expe rt who now rides Foster 's old TZ. In the Un limited GP, Foster wa ite lor tra ffic d to clea r before moving into the lead on lap six. He passed CBR6lJO..mounted Stu Morrison in the tow er tum, p u t a comfortable ma rgin be tween himse lf and Morrison, and earned th e $250 firstplace p urse. Mo rris on, who wa s alr eady assu red of getting th e nu mber-one regional pla te, only raced three sp rin ts ins tead of his typ ical se ven en tries. He became the first racer in the region's history to hold th e title three tim es. He wa s awa rde d $150 for his seco nd -p lace finish in the Unlimited GP. Da v id Duprey re tu rn e d to raci ng a fter 15 months spe n t recovering from a kneecap injury. He got a stro ng sta rt in the Un limited GP, b u t near ly dumped his GSX-R75O in the esses in lap two, and len wa y back. It took Duprey u ntil lap 15 to wo rk hi mself back into the top five. On the last lap, he inherited fou rt h p lace w hen John Burgoyne 's CBR900 ran ou t of gas in Tu m I I. Seip grooves to Bridgehampton Motocross win By Ji m and Carolyn Simpson BRIIlGEHAMPTON, NY, OCT. 9 [errySeip unc orked his 1994 KX 250 and tasted the fruit of his labors by w inn ing the 250cc Pro Expe rt overall at Bridgehampton Motorsports Park. Mike Mic hels showed th e lead in to th e wood s with Bob Balnis an d Jalil Lyn ch chasing . M ichels cleared th e Hidden Vall ey ta ble to p-it was Michels wi th Lynch an d John Barone Jr. in hot pursuit. Seip tw is ted the wick on his new Kawasaki and caught up to the leaders, and at the end of lap one, it wa s Michels, Lynch and Seip form ing the lead pack. Things remained the sa me un til Ly nch made a m o ve and pa ssed Michels in the back secti on. Lynch then was hed out in a tu m , and with nowh ere to go, Michels wound up on the ground w ith Lynch. With all o f this action in fron t of him, Seip took over the lead . Seip went on for the win for the first lime out on his East Coast Kawasaki/Answer / KPSbacked Kawasaki. Se ip jumped i n to th e le ad a s th e ga te dropped for mot o two. Baln is cha sed Seip until Lync h a nd Barone Jr. motored by to follow Seip. Lyn ch mad e his move on the Raceway Straigh t and passed Seip for the lead. Lynch , Seip and Barone made up the lead trio un til Seip ra iled th e ou tsi d e a n d dropped Ly nc h to se con d . Lynch, not con ten t in seco nd , repassed Seip to sta rt the last lap. Lyn ch took the mote win whi le Se ip t ook seco n d p la ce in th e m o to , g ood enoug h for the ove ra ll win. Barone scored third in the moto for second overal l. Kevin Nowak, Brian Mulry and John Jasins ki started the firs t l25cc Ama teur mot o fighting for the lead . Dennis Robinso n moved up to thi rd at the d ose of lap on e. Jasins ki regai ned thi rd as he repassed Robinson. Nowak took the win, Mu lry scored seco nd and Robinson moved up to take third p lace honors . H onda -m oun ted Mul ry m oto re d int o the lead to s tart mo to two. No wak and Joe Bisbee followed Mul ry into the wood s. Mulry jumped back in to sight in first with Nowak and Brian Berry side by side in seco nd . Berry moved up to secon d with N ow ak th ird . Mu lry , Ber ry and Nowa k stepped up the pace to pull awa y when Berry passed lor the lead. Nowak then wicked up h is Kaw asa ki to close in a n d p ass Berr y before the finish-line tabletop .
