SEPT. 19 Matthew Win n ac ker took the ch eckered flag ahea d of Andrew Perki ns in the fmal race of the 1993 MCRA 100Km Series at Gatewy [nterna tional Racewa y. Perkins was the overall points winne r, however, and wo n the championship in Heavyweight and Med ium Superbike . Da vid Probst got his us ua l qu ick ju mp off the start on a Suzuki GSXRllOO, bu t he was soo n p as sed by Pe rk in s r id in g a H on da 250. Winna cker moved into second on the fou rth lap a nd th en to o k co n t rol o f th e lea d with hi s Yam a ha 250 on lap six. From tha t po in t, th e po si tio n of the firs t th ree bik es remained the sa me thro ugho ut the race. However Winnacker had bu ilt a 29-second lead over Perkins, a nd one-m inute , th ree-s econ d s ove r Probst by the end . They were the only three bikes to comp lete 28 laps .
