Fast heat win ner Nick William s sa t on the
pole for the 85cc main even t. Trent Shellabarge r,
the othe r heat winn er, lined up next to Williams .
But at the green light Randy Smith powered off
into tum one with the lead. Smith stayed in the
first posi tion to the checkers, and Williams was
ne ver mo re tha n a bike leng th behind. Third
pl a ce we nt to Bria n Shi rley. Shirley mad e
repe at ed cha rges up bes ide the front- runners
and see med to be the fastest rider in the field,
but a loss of traction coming out of the com ers
held him back. Shellaba rger nailed down fou rth
after a race-long batt le with Brian Hopper.
Steve Mason led the 200cc ma in event from .
the start with Clint Brown in the second position. Q ui nt Eslinge r and N ick Dan iels both
passed Brow n on the second lap . Mason wa s.
passed by Eslinge r on the ins ide and Danie ls on
the outside on the d ownh ill at tum three on lap
five. Danie ls then pow ered out of tum four with
the lead and went on to a narrow wi n just ahead
of Eslinger and Mason .

Langcor and Brian Th om as a t the s tar t of the
250cc main even t. Longco r and Thomas bumped
Turner to fourth place on lap two, and Thomas
mad e an insid e move in tum one on Laogcor to
take ove r secon d on lap three. Thomas came
arou nd Logue on the outside in tum four 00 lap
four to ta ke the lea d . At the checkers it was
Thomas, Logue, and Langee r w ith Tu rne r a dis tant fourth.
Greg Cler got the holeshot in the combined
Veteran and 400cc main. Tom Sutton and Les
Schackmann held second and third. On the second lap Schackmann ran off the track and laid it
down between turns one and two . Brian Thomas
passed Cler and Sult on on the back stra ight on
the sam e lap. Ben Andres passed Sutt on on lap
four comin g ou t of tum fou r and then moved by
Cler in tum two on the next lap . Thomas was
the easy winner with Andres, Cler, and Sutton
finishing second throug h fourth .

LONDON, KY, SEPT. 5
The Bault bro thers bu rned up the track as they
took home overa ll victories in three classes at
Dan iel Boo ne Mo to cr o ss Pa rk. Jaso n Sault
topped the 60 cc class wh ile brother Chris captur ed wins in both the 125 and 250ccC classes.
The 60cc class pitted Jason Bau lt aga inst
Ch ris Hea th and Josh Haynes, who are only separated by one point in the series. Sault led every
lap of the first mota to post the win.
In the second mota Heath took the holeshot,
but Bault man euve red to firs t position by the
second lap . Bault held th e lead over Heath,
Hayn es an d J.R. Car ter throughout the rest of
the race and crashed as he flew ahead of them to
take the checkered nag over the finis h line.
Luckily he was unh urt.
Ch ris Bault was the principal pe rfor mer of
the day as he battled throu gh a full gate of riders
inclu d ing the 250cc C class, the 250cc 0 and the
25+ class. Bault ran away in the first moto, scoring the win after leading every lap.
Bault was beaten out of the gate in the first
lap of the second moto . By the time second lap
began, Bault ha d regained the lead . He held it
throughou t the rest of the race to win the mota
and the 250cc C overall victory .
Action in the 125cc C class wa s fast and
aggressive, forcing a tired Sault to ride hard to
secure the win. He came through the first tum in
th ird position in mo to one, but by lap two he
had passed the two bikes ahead of him. Bault
kept th e number on e s lo t t h ro ugho ut th e
remainder of the race and won the mota.
In moto two Gary Withers, took the holeshot
and led the first two laps. Bault started the race
in third positi on but passed Withers on lap two
and led the remaining laps for the win.
