The team lost their long-standing Gau loises backing as a result of Fren ch government restrictions on ci ga ret te ad vertising, but were able to continue because of a scheme whereby the government compensated those who had lost as a result of the new rules. As a result, chief coordinator Sarron said it was very difficult to secure the money for this year, and it would be harder still next year.
