Ten races. Countless lops.
Packs of tough competitors . Too many months on the roa d
sleeping on lumpy motel mattresses.
Add it a ll up and you've got the AMA 7SOcc Supersport season.
And its new champion. Britt Turkington.
Qn his way
to racking up 311 points to capture the championship,
Britt won four races and finished
in the top three, nine times aboard his production-based
Suzuki GSX-R 7S0W.
leaving the competition to do nothing but sit back and wonder how they could get their
gloves on a GSX-R of their own. (Here's a hint, just head to your nearest Suzuki dealer. Duh.)
Suzuki grabbed third place in the championship as well,
with Gerald Rothman Jr. collecting 253 points over
s z
the long, fiercely contested season. Gerald a lso won
both the 600cc and 750cc AMA Top Expert Championships,

making him Mr. Supers port Rookie of the Year.
And as if dominating the championship wasn't enough, Suzuki
attacked the competition at Sears Point International Raceway during the final stop of the
season with three GSX-R 750 riders finishing in the top five.
Congratulations to all the teams and riders who made this season one of the best ever.
.
And an extra round
