Cox cleans up at Perris MX

PERRIS, CA. AUG. 7
Steve Cox earned his first--ever ove rall victory in
the 250cc Novice cl as s during GFI Super
Saturday MX, held at Perris Raceway.
Bret Milan holcsh ot and led the first 250cc
Novice mota while Steve Cox and Jason Larson
foHowed. Milan wa s riding a new motorcycle
and appeared to be full of confidence, and began
to extend his lead wh ile Cox began maki ng mistakes.
"I was trying too hard and I ended up going
backwards" Cox said .
Mila n went on for the eventual win while

Packwood, wh o led the 125cc No vice class.
Cox holeshot the second moto and promptly
pe rformed a d isa p pe a ring act. M ilan stay ed
close during the first few laps, then began to
fade off the pace .

much, .. said Milan.
