Fas tline II, 4&6 Raci ng with Jon Cornwell (recovering well from having to start from the pit lane because of a mechanical problem), teamed with fellow Canadian Owen W:eichel, and the American Flyers te am of Michael Golden and Todd Harrington brought up the last of the lead g ro up in GTU action. The Fastline GTU machine raced with zero rear brakes; the rea r wheel was coated with brake fluid, but there wasn't time for repa irs. . Team AGV Sport cured jetting problems only to spin a main bea ring in practice and found themselves forced to swap engi ne s. Th ey in herited fourth place wh en Northwest Racing d ropped ou t. AGV Sp ort Riders Todd Droegmeyer, Robert Von Nessen and Californian Clem Sterling ran as high as third unti l a late-race stop for a splash of gas relegated them to fou rth place. In d rama tic fashion he wh eelied the big Suzuki every lap on the exit of tum six to the entrance of turn seven. Even with a heroic effo rt, it wa s not enough as the team failed to ma ke up the time for the unscheduled stops. le natsch handed th e team's Countermeasure CBR900RR to Lynch late in the race, giving Dutchma n a 10sec ond lead. On lap 79, th o ug h, the Dutchman bike came back into the pits Jor a scheduled stop and Lynch again regained the lead. Then in a bizarre twist of fate both th e Dutchman and Tw o Bro th ers machines su ffered tr an smission problems tha t forced bo th the machines to slow. Lynch put the big Honda on cruise to the flag. Dutchman crossed the stripe 15 secon d s later w ith Fas tli ne/MCM Su zuki ma king u p ground on the two ailing machines in third. Fastline ha d made up enoug h time to make it back to the lead lap. Lynch was pleased with the way the American Hond a /L&W /D.1.D./ Barnett-sp on so red machine had pe rform ed . "That bike flies!" Lynch said . "Kevin did an excellent job in building it and today was just a pleasure to ride. The Bridgestones worked well and so did the crew, Danny Kyle does a great job." Iena tsch was also happ y with his performance: "I went 'ou t and d id my job and ever ything worked. This track was kind of mad e for the Countermeasure, a nice long straigh t with a banked tum one, it was a blas t to ride."
