There were so many delays the riders rod to refuel. Nicol wanted Ihe win big time and he rose to the occasio n, holding off Bobby Hedden, who was riding Bren t Werne r's bike. Hedden ra n into bike trouble on 'one of the resta rts and Werne r, knowi ng he was o u t 'o f co ntention, gave h is b ike to Hedden which allowed him to finish seco nd . John Ad en was th ird .
