Wit h 15 e n tries th e class had to run two qua lifying hea ts and a se mi to d etermine which 12 ride rs wo u ld compete in the ma in eve nt. At the s ta rt o f the mai n it was Rocky Ma rconi pulli ng the hol e shot and bein g cha sed into the first tum by Gar y Roge rs and Lu ker. The rider s fre igh t-tra ined a round the tra ck until la p six . wh en Rogers tri ed a n inside pass on Marc on i, knocking bot h ride rs ou t of the face . Thi s left Luker to inherit the lead . followed by She nna n Lee, Gerald Ten ret an d Ch ris Fischer . Lee tested Luker on the outsid e but cou ld n' t ge t by. Bricker look ed like he m igh t go on to an easy wi n as he led the race fro m th e s ta rt to the wh ite-fla g lap. But Dan McDonne ll. who was wor kin g his wa y up from a poo r S~1Tt, had other ideas. McDo nnell picked 0 (( riders one by one as he worked his wa y into third place, with one lap to go . Then , as the riders exited tum two . McDonnell found that little ex tra and passed both Mar k Key and Bricker to tak e th e lea d and the win. Bricker, w ho was bu mpe vf the groove. d ropped to a se venthd place finish as Key held on to take a hard-earned se co n d . Han sen, who bad a bad ta ke-o ff, was on the gas as he passed To ny Souza on the th ird lap an d Tyson Silva on the four th lap .
