Sheak's untouchable lead began from the final moto's holeshot, as he led Carsten and Dengler around the track for four laps. With one lap to go, after dicing with Dengler, Carsten attempted to break away from Dengler's pressure and catch Sheak. Time ran out and Sheak was the winner, with Carsten taking second, Dengler finishing third and Wallace and Tompkins getting fourth and fifth, respectively. Carsten blasted out of the gate in the first 250cc Expert moto. Through the first half, he led the pack, building a larger lead with each turn. Brian Carroll, Carter Gurnee and Sheak were waiting in the wings when Carsten tumbled in the back section. Though Carsten was down for only seconds, it was enough time for Carroll, Gurnee and Sheak to pass. Carroll got far enough in front to take tfie win, and Carsten worked his way back to second. Sheak and Gurnee were third and fourth. Sheak and Carsten went head to head in the final moto, pacing each other for five laps. The two sped through each lap, getting farther away from the third, fourth and fifth place riders, Carroll, Dengler and Eric Koch. Sheak took the overall win, with Carsten second, Carroll third and Dengler fourth. Mike Spear was top rider in the 25+ Expert class, repeating his performance . at rouno. one. Spear established his lead from lap one of the first moto. Ken Blackwell, Marc Teisler and Jim Kapitan were left to fight for the second spot. Kapitan pushed his way past Blackwell, and with Teisler dropping back at the halfway point, Kapitan closed in on Spear in the last lap. Kapitan had reduced Spear's lead to two bike lengths when the final flag came out. John Burfeind, Blackwell, Jim McLivaine and Kapitan chased Spear throughout the four-lap final moto. Spear was clearly in command as he pulled far out in front and took the overall win. Blackwell was second overall, and Burfeind and Kapitan placed third and fourth overall. Both Open Expert motos were dominated by Spear, as he outran Mike Gailligan, Dave McLean and Tom Bruno. Galligan was allowed to lead the first two laps of the final, but was pushed back to second. Spear posted the first overall, while Galligan was second, and McLean and Bruno were third and fourth.
