eIN THE WIND eLa aSeca to hostAdamo Benefitauction B unds will be raised for the family of Jimmy Adamo, the road racer who suffered fatal injuries in the Daytona 200 last month, by way of a silent auction that is being presented by Cycle NIWS and Laguna Seca Raceway. All proceeds from the auction, which will close at the end the AMA National Championship Road Race Series meet at Laguna Seca on April 18, will go directly to Adamo's widow and two young children ~... via the Jimmy Adamo Benefit Fund. ~ Each of the donated items will go to the highest bidder and all the items will be on ....... display at Laguna Seca Raceway during the April 16-18 National weekend. Wayne Rainey Team Honda leathers (both ~ sets of leath~rs donated by Rainey). 3. Eddie Lawson Bell helmet, autographed by ........... Lawson and worn by him during the 1984 GP season. 4. Eddie Lawson Dainese gloves, autographed, wo~ b'y Lawson during '84 season. 5. Eddie Lawson illustration by Hector CatamatorJ, SIgned by Lawson. 6. Randy Mamola HB International Suzuki leathers, circa 1983-84. 7. Randy Mamola AGV helmet, circa 1983-84. (Items #3 through #7 donated from the Pro Rider Benefit Fund by Dain Gingerelli.) 8. Two Brothers exhaust system for Honda CBR600 F-2, donated by Kevin and Craig Erion. 9. The Ducati Story, a softcover book in Italian by Bruno Ducati, autographed by Ducali. 10. Arai helmet, autographed by Team Honda's Jeff Stanton, Jeremy McGrath, Doug Henry and Steve Lamson, donated by American Hondaline's Rick Mitchell. 11. Seat from the Harley-Davidson XR750 campaigned by Mark Brelsford to the 1972 Grand National Championship, donated by Modesto Honda/Kawasaki's Phil Ray. 13. Storz Performance steering damper kit for Ducati 881/888/90055, donated by Steve Storz. 14. Bridgestone tires which can be seen and individually bid on at Bridgestone's booth during Laguna Seca race weekend. 15. Wayne Gardner Shoei helmet and pair of road racing boots worn by the 1987 World Champion during the 1986 season, donated by Marcel Fortney of CCI, Inc. 16. Rick Johnson "Too Hip" Simpson helmet and JT Racing gloves worn by the former National Champion MXer while member of Team Yamaha, donated by Kerry Carruthers. While there is still time remaining for interested parties to donate items, we recommend acting immediately so that shipping or personal delivery of items to Laguna Seca Raceway can be arranged. F U.s Women's Motocross Team members Dee Ann Wood, Cindy Cole, Kristy Shealy and Nadine Holbert will head to Italy for the May 9-16 International Women's Motocross Cup races. The two races will pit the U.S. team against top women riders from around the world, including Australian Tiffany Greenwood, and women from New Zealand, Russia, Slovenia, France, England and last year's winning Italian team. To help pay for the trip, the U.S. team is putting on fund-raising events, including a U.S. Women's MX Team night at Mosier Valley MX Park in Texas. The event will include several classes for women, who can enter for free. Prizes will be raffled off, and all proceeds will go to the team.
