.. ; ... ... • . Finney and Myers came off the line side-byside to begin the second moto, and engaged in an exciting back-and-forth battle for the first half of the race. But Myers was tough to beat this day, and once in control of lead, he again opened up a cushion on Finney. Myers continued on for the win and the overall, while Finney was second. Owenby finished a strong third for third overall. Phil Crane followed Dale Hansen to the checkered flag in the Vet Expert class' first moto, but came back to top moto two in fine style, earning the overall victory. Beau Magley finished third in the first go-around, but flew to second place in the final moto and claimed second overall. Rick Alves flew his Yamaha to the flfSt 2SOcc Intermediate moto win, with Honda-mounted Derek Watkins working up from a bad start to fmish a close second. Watkins was on the pipe for moto two, though, and he railed to the win and the overall. Alves finished second and second overall, with George Bryanack scoring third. Results EX: 1. Orr WEEKEND FEATURED RACES ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Larsson licks Barona Oaks MX By Homer Eubanks RAMONA, CA, MAR. 13 Erick Larsson.came out on top of a heated battle with Jeff Tilton to win the 250cc Intermediate class at Barona Oaks Raceway. Tilton topped the first moto and appeared to have moto two in hand until the final lap, when a downed rider allowed Larsson to close on the leader. Tilton then bobbled on an uphill section and Larsson was able to score the moto and overall wins. Tilton came back to control the 125cc Intermediate class with a pair of moto wins, though Larson and Gabriel Bolivar kept him honest. Larsson grabbed the second spot in moto one. Bolivar chased Tilton from second in moto two, but Larson overtook him to earn the runner-up position. Bolivar came out strong in the 125ee (16-21) class and led the first mota wire to wire. Jon Raymond, who had finished second in moto one, holeshot moto two ahead of Bolivar. Bolivar held that position until the third lap, when Deron Stidman passed him for third. Bolivar came out second overall, with the win going to Raymond. Marlon Sovey collected the .125cc Stock Novice class, posting 1-2 moto scores. Sovey had little trouble in moto one, but found himself fourth off the line in moto two. Sovey followed Wilson Nichols Jr. around Rob Anderson during the second lap, then moved by Nichols for second on the final circuit. Jimmer Hollow won the first moto of the 12Sec Modified Novice, but failed to make the start line for moto two. Moto~one runner-up Danny Dobey holeshot the second moto, but Deron Stidman ~ook over the lead on lap two at an uphill double. Aaron Prernan took over second place one lap later, and Stidman held on for the win and the overall victory. Preman was second in the moto and second overall, and Dobey earned third. . Brad Millikan won the first moto of the 21rider-strong 80cc (12-16) Beginner class, but was second to Mike Goswick in moto two. Goswick had scored a DNF in the first outing, however, so Millikan earned the overall win. ~ SUPERBIKE 250 GRAND PRIX 750cc SUPERSPORT 600cc SUPERSPORT HARLEY-DAVIDSON TWINSPORTS EBC ENDURANCE CHALLENGE @TOYOTA TICKET 3·DoySuoer fro/Sot/Sun 2·DoySuoerSot/Sun Sondoy Super 3-Doy fro/Sot/Sun 2·DoySot/Son Sunday TYPE AdmlSs'on' Paddock Admission' Paddock Adm,ssion' Paddock Admission PRICE 550.00 S4Q.00 SJO.OO 535.00 SJO.OO 520.00 AdmiSSion AdmiSSIon Res.:~andSlond Sealing Soturefoy Sunday jlogRoom TOTAL NO.
