of the top AMA Superbike teams were
planning on racing in the event as a
tune-up for the season opener in Phoenix
on February 14.
The first round of the 1993 Motorcycle
Asphalt Racing Series (MARS) will take
place on Volusia County Speedway's
high-banked oval at Barberville, Florida,
on Sunday afternoon, February 28. The
third running of the Daytona Half Mile
ro d of the series will offer competitors
a 2,000 purse and one rider who will
be unning for the winner's share will be
19 MARS Champion Larry Pegram.
Ga will open at noon with racing gettin the green flag at 2 p.m.

Mitch 2, when a Pro-Am short track is
