In the first o f three heat races, Dan Sta nley
got the hol eshot over Fay, Joh n .Winccwicz
and Ro n Yama moto, wh o were side-by -side

it was Steve H yson a nd Brian Lo we. Fay rode
wit h in o ne to three bike len gths o f Sta nley.

settled in to a sim ila r pattern, a nd th e o rder

With Sch nitzer on the back row , the resta rt
was aga in cro wded a nd wild with everyo ne
jock e)'ing for positions before th e tight left
and fi ght turns leading to th e ju mp.
Yamamoto charged from ro w two in to th ird
pla ce by the j u mp . By lap three, Yam am ot o
was clo se to Fay , but that's as close as he got.

sister for th e wi n. Sky ler \ Vrigh t was a big
wi n ne r in th e 65cc class over seco nd· pla ce
fin ishe r J osh Tou ngett. Randy Sm ith put o n
his best ride of the seaso n in the 85cc class
wi th a com e-from-behind wi n o ver ha rd
charg ing Shan no n \Vright and j ustin Filso n.

Sco tt Shinn and Brad T urne r moved up into
seco nd and third. Troy Fisch er was the 400cc
class heat winner but fell in th e fin al to g ive
