two , but returned th e pass o n lap four. Troy
McPik e was hOI in the roost o f Ca sey a nd
Ro bert s a nd moved b y sim u ha neo usly before
th e halfway poi nt.
Shawn Hig h land was th e o n ly o ther rid er
to ma tch" the blistering pa ce that Beyer and
Lea ch set. Highland moved pa st riders a' an
a stou nd ing pa ce. a nd by lap three he had
moved aro u nd Keller and was hard o n th e
gas .
By lap five. Beyer was goi ng by back
markers. Leac h was a d istant second , and
Hi gh land was closing up tlie ga p slowly bUI
su rdy. At the checkers. Beyer fin ished u p well
a hea d o f Leach and H igh la nd. Casey went
by :\IcP ike a nd sn uc k up o n Kel ler at the
fini sh . A' th e lin e, :\IcPike had h is hand s full
with J am es Classen, th e lead er o f th e 30-40
Junior class. bu t held hi m 0 [[ by inches .

Leach was up to seco nd by lap two , but back
by some five seco nds. Keller was reall y o n the
gas after sta rt in g dead last . By lap four, Keller
was up to third , eigh t seconds behind Leac h.
McPik e ha d Clau ssen a nd Ca sey kn ocking
on h is back fend er by lap four, Casey smoked
by Clausen o n lap five and dogged McPike.
O n lap five. Beyer began to enco u n ter back
ma rk ers and fou nd it pr etty easy to mot or pa st.
Leach seemed to be co n tent with fall ing into
seco nd overall by mid-me re. and cr uised for
the rest o f the race. Beyer crosse d the fini sh
lin e well up o n Leach and Keller, while
McPi ke hel d off th e ad va nc es of Cas ey.

Sellers a nd Rob erts in tow .
