And a few riders took advantage of th e sh uation and co mpe ted in both races, as they bou nced back a nd fort h between the tracks, SAN BERNARDINO, CA, MAY 17 • Ryan Picard was th e overa ll Pee Wee winner a t the Ca lifornia Racing Club's 15th Annual Du nestown Series, held a. Gl en Hel en OH V Park. The Pee Wee A and B-1 classes left th e lin e together in mota o ne. A-cla ss rid er Sco tt Howe pulled th e ho lesbor a nd left th e com pe tition III th e du st. The B-1 class saw Ra y Perez leading during th e open ing la ps with even tual moto o ne winner, Ca le Walla"" , right o n his tail. Picard, sufferi ng fro m a star t, was q uickly workin g hi s way th rough th e pack a nd towards th e front. On th e fina l lap. Perez drop ped back. whi le Wallace a nd Picard cap ita lized o n his mi stak es. At th e finish, Wall a"" cro ssed th e lin e first with Picard close beh ind. Perez settled for th ird. In mot o two Picard pulled th e hol esho t and led th e o pe n ing laps before bei ng passed by· A rider H owe, How e started to p ull a way fro m' the field , bu t o n lap four Picard mo unted a cha rge tha t q u ickl y closed th e ga p between the two riders. The fin a l lap s were where th e ba ttleil heat ed. Picar d was clo sing wh en Howe wen t do wn in a back sectio n of th e track. Howe q uic kly remounted but was passed by Picard. The fin al lap saw a dogfi ght to th e finish : with Picard and Howe swa pp ing pos iti on s back a nd forth. At th e finish , Picard claimed the victory with How e in seco nd . , Brell H einselman cla ime d · th e o verall victory in the 125cc Novice class with a two· mota sweep.
