This is to auest to the fact th at Loyal Truesdale did indeed lift his g lass to the late Charles Clayton as o ne of his first priorities upon arriving in Sa n Sa lvador, May 3. 1 am not sure what o ther reaso ns h is glass was lifted for , but 1 kn ow that Loyal was happy, as a ll who did , to finish an exciting and fun event that will remain a credi t to hi s skills as a promoter. I liv e in northwest Arkansas, and to gi ve yo u an idea how bad th e deal ers are atound here, it too k th em six weeks to get a set of Micheli ns for me. Then 1 thought I had preuy much ab andoned th e 1 0Gl1 dea lers as m uch as possib le when 1 recently got a pan through a pans ad in Cycle News, a pan tha t didn't cos t me an inflated dealer pr ice and arrived in a reasonable time fra me. 1 th ought, "A lright!" Guess what - just o ne time lu cky. Last mon th I was T vboned by an uninsured motorist and my ch erry '88 GS X R 750 (keeper bike) was pretty much tras hed. So, 1 ordered a starter cover and a Iootpeg fro m my great parts co nnection on the East Coast so 1 cou ld limp my bike to m y wonderful deal er to trade for a new bike that 1 can 't get parts for. H onest to goodness , th ey ga ve m e a week run -around before th ey wou ld even ta ke my order and three weeks lat er I'm getting the same o ld ba ck-order ro uti ne which in my eyes o n ly · m ean s in competency, . Last time I checked my calendar, it was coming u p o n th e 21st century , and th ere is absolutely no excuse for th ese -rtypes of problems . If th ey aren't accustomed to taking o rders from private parties, then th ey shou ld sim p ly say, " We do not wa nt your business." I don 't know if racers are treat ed th is way . I would jus t like to enjoy m y bike. Do I have to be a licen sed, sponsored rider to do so, and if so, wh y? I buy production bikes.
