was secon d with seven and Pelt o n third with

Lucas lands two Silver Springs
Motocross wins

ROCK GLEN, NY, APR. 19
The qualifier for Prosports USA Masters of
Mo tocross Eastern Championships was held
a t Sil ver Spri n gs MX Park and attrac ted riders
from as far away as Canada and Connecticut.
They were treated to 20-m in ute motos on th e
Eu ropean-style track, and there was an age
class for riders 25 to 50 years old. Qualificati on
gu arantees riders a spot on the ga te at th e
fina l held in Blountville, T ennessee in June.
Bart Lu cas proved to be th e iron man of
th e day, co mpeting in fou r classes. He won
two, th e Plus 30 and P lus 35 Master clas ses,
and hi s tou/;hest com petition was in th e Plus
25 Master division'loe Ellington topped th e
cla ss with 1·2 mo to inishes , wh ile Lucas was
th e only l25cc rider in th e field and cou ld
o nly finish fifth overa ll .
In the Plus 30 Master cla ss, Lucas rode o u t
front in both mot os. Brian Broadw ell stayed
clo se enough to take adva ntage o r an error,
bu t Lu cas d id not falter.

Nov ice a nd Plus 50 Amateur classes. His
smooth riding style served him well and he
won easily o ver Wendell Little.
