World Championship Observed Trials Series: Round 3 Bosis strikes again in Scotland McDowell masters Hill Ferry ST / FORT WIUJAM, SCOn.AND, APR. 19 talian Diego Bosis scored a narrow victory in the Sootish World Championship Trials, edging Out defending World Champion Jordi Tarres by three points. Bosis buckled down 'a fter an openingsection score of five to post the best scores on each of the three laps of the I4-section course. Finland's Tommi Ahvala finished third behind the Spaniard, T arr es. The trial , held on the slopes of the Ben Nevies Mountains, was the toughest yet this year , as Bosis dropped 100 marks . Adding to the difficulty of the sections, which consisted of several rock gullies often filled with streams, was extremely harsh observing which drew arguments from several riders. The o pe n in g sec tio n th ro ug h a stream had several hidden hol es. Tarres and Amos Bilbao scored two, Donato Migli o bettered them by one while but Ahvala cleaned the trap. Bosis star ted out with a five in the section. Bosis cleaned the next section whil e the maj ority of competitors drew fives at the summit of a big rock step . Tarres, Marc Colome and Juan Pons also scored clean s. Only Colome made it throu gh the third section, whil e most riders had littl e trouble with the fourth hazard. The fifth and six th sections a lso provided low scores, but the next two sections took at least a three from ' everybody. The remai ning sections, except for o ne, were q ui te difficult and Bosis effectively won the trial with a brilli ant one-point ride through the final hazard on the last lap , while T arres scored a I fi ~ a Results 0 / A: I.
