Due to the date change for the Sacra mento Mile round of the Camel Pro Series to April 18, the sho rt track race at northern California's .Lodi Cycl e Bowl will now take place on Saturday ni ght, April I I, a day after it was origi nally scheduled to run. American Suzuki has announced its 1992 Drag Racing Contingency Program tha t o ffer s in creased payou ts in NHRA and IDBA competition for a record total of $43,900, over $13;000 more th an posted last year. In addi tion, they've added nine classes to th e payo u t. T he newl y added IDBA classes are Funny Bike, Pro Comp, T op Gas , Su per Comp, Pro Gas, Super Gas, Super Street, Super Elimin ator 'and E.T. Bracket, in addition to Pro Stock. The new classes will pay first pl ace riders ($300) in each category, while awards have been posted in Pro Stock for first ($500) and second p lace ($150), as well as semi -final ($75) and qualifier runners-up ($25) in seven events. NHRA Pro Stock awa rds will go to first pl ace ($500) and second place ($300), and to sem i ($150), quarterfinal ($75) and q ualifier ($50) runnersup in 10 rounds . Defending National Enduro Cham p ion J e ff R u s s e ll thought he had bro ken his foot in the March 14 T ecate 250 End uro in Mexico, bu t X-rays later showed it wasn 't broken. But Ru ssell went back to the hospital on March 22 after experienci ng more pain in the foo t. " It (the foot) is gett ing worse, not better ," sa id R ussell in a pho n e conversa tio n on March 23. " I had to go to emerge ncy, because it had gott en .' so swollen an d had developed redn ess. Jerry Hebel ha s secured a new loca tio n for h is Daniel Boone M otocr o s s Park in London , Kent ucky, and plans to begin operat ion s April 5. Hebel has been assured that th e property ow ner who opposed h is original site has no op pos ition to the ' new area, but he must still get an en tertai nme nt perm it from a loca l judge. Hebel p lanned to hold h is first race on April 5, bu t that race andan event schedu led for April 12 have been cancelled, although the park will be open for practice. T he Baltimore County Trail Ride rs Association (BCTRA) of Maryland will host a s h o rt t rack race.at Potomac S peedwa y in Budd 's Creek , Maryland, on Saturday night, April 25. "The track is a three -eigh ths mile oval and it has steeper banks than the old Dorsey track we used to run races at in Baltimore," said BCTRA's Tay lor Wh ite IV.
