Mann picked up the win, whi le Beanway, Pete and J ohn Ford and Peter Crutenden filled th e top five, respectively. Bea nway, again, slithered 10 th e front of th e pack in the second rn oto and for a while looked as though he might pull orr an upset win, as Mann fell. Mann , how ever, worked back through th e pack an d grabbed the lead for the overa ll wi n. Bean way was th e runner-up, clinchi ng the overa ll win in the Ligh tweigh t T wo class, bu t it was Ford fin ish in g secon d in th e 500s over Charles Regruuo, Fred Mork and Vir gil Eli ngs. Crutenden was the Amateur overall winner, while Kay Mann topped the Novices. The final race of the day proved to be th e crow d's favorite, mainly for nosta lgic reasons. T he event pitted '70s stars H ateley, Murphy and Aldan a against each other. Hateley wo n both motos, but . Murphy did a ll he could to tak e Hateley's lead , and at one po int, the two rode side by side to the finish with Hateley winnin g o ut by a wh eel.
