eLOCA LEVENTS e J evon Ahn er (73) beat th e rest of the 125cc Novice class to Hurrican e Hills Sport Center's first tum. Anthony Frisco ne fought his way thro ugh the pack and wit h a last-lap charge earned second place. Lombardozzi gra bbed th e lead a t the start of mot o two, as Fri scon e stayed right o n the leader looking for a way past hi m. Ercol e was fightin ~ his way up to th e top thr ee at th e beginnig of the moto . Friscon e made hi s move an d passed Lombardozzi to take the lead . and th en stepped up th e pa ce to lead a ll a lone. Ercole battled with Chris Scida but didn't fin d th e right lin e around hi m. Fri scone seized the win an d th e overall while Ercole settled for second overa ll for th e day. Klein was aga in in fro n t when the gate dropped in rnot o two. Tony Marzan o, Reich and Myers tra iled through turn o ne. Myers easily di spensed of the two riders ahead of him and moved in o n Klein within the first half lap. The two rid ers rod e a tire-to-tir e race with Myers taking over the lead as the white I flag came out. Myers con tin ued to po und his way aro und th e track, holding a slim thr ee second lead on Klein at th e checkered flag. At th e sta rt of A Supers tock, many WERA heavies sa t on the gri d - in addition to Nobl es - in cl u di ng Kurt H all , wh o ha s b een scoo ping up Suzuki mon ey lelt a nd righ t; Bruce Baldus and Tray Batey of H all 'N Still fam e; AMA end ura nce reg u lars - and points leaders - Dutchm an Ra cin g had also made th e journey, and were fielding New Zeala nd rider Chris H aldane. A Super stoc k was Hall 's race. He go t an exceptio na l start. and led the en tire race. Baldus and Nobl es were dicin g back and forth th rou ghout, with Nobl es capi talizi ng on a few of Baldus' wid e co mer exits to even tually take second pl ace. Haldane and Batey were nearb y, bu t rema ined mir ed in fourth and fifth , whe re they bo th fin ished, respect ively. Wh en th e fla g waved for th e start of th e B Superstock race, Baldus was a lready go ne - he had j um ped the flag. Baldus - wh o was in second off the line - ran wide co mi ng o ut of five, letting Nobl es past. Fro m th ere, H all and Nob les began to make a break fro m th e pack, stretch ing their lead every lap . T he battle up front was tight: Neith er Ha ll nor Nobl es co uld pas s an ywhere except by drafting down th e front stra illh t, so tha t is what th ey did, every lap. Lu ckil y for Nobl es, he led into the first tum o n th e white flag lap. As th e duo rounded th e fin al tum. Hall tucked in tight for a last minute draft, but he could not muster the speed lD make a pass before th e checkered flag, and had to settl e for second behind Nobles. Batey was credited with third, -followed by Todd Hoge, with David McGrath rounding out th e top five. Charles Harbin dominated a series o f competitive Novi ce races. First, in th e B Production Novice race, Harbin o utlasted both Steve Moser and Michael Bailey for the win (Moser and Bailey would compe te aga in st each other aga in in C Production, finishing on e-two, respectively ). Wh en the gate dropped for th e l25cc A main, Brown and Chester blasted to turn o ne in harness, wi th Brown co ming o ut with th e lead . Throughout the ent ire 15 hard-chargi ng laps , Che ster dogged Brown's tire prints, un til a bad landing o n a set of doubles slowed him mom entarily. Recoverin g quickl y, Chester resumed th e battle and for three fast laps bede viled th e leader. A m iscue on la p eigh t caused Ch ester to land sho rt on the sa me do ubles, an d for a few seconds he was more co ncerned with stay ing uprigh t th an go ing forward.
