This left Pierce and Sheets to argue over first. In the last turn, Sheets ma de a desperation move th at came -u p inc hes short a t th e line, handing the moto win to Pier ce. As th e riders came around th e first tum at the start of mOlD two , Shee ts had th e lead followed by Scott Martinez and Roger s. On th e secon d lap , Sheets went down in one of the high-berm turns, dropp ing him to fifth . Rogers wasted li ttle time in passing Martinez, who was starting to fade. Sheets too k another secon d p lace Hnish for the o vera ll victory. ]n the first mo to of th e 60cc class, Evan La ughridge and Ni kki Harris came out of th e start. side by side. As th e riders came aro und the first turn H arris lost th e fron t wheel and went down as th e pack roared pas t. Laugh- ridge was able to esta blish a strong lead ah ead of Steven Shimizu and Chris McAvoy. By th e last lap, Harris had mo ved her way u p to fou rth, just behi nd McAvoy. Mak in g a quick piv ot in the las t tu rn, Harris was abl e to take thi rd at th e line. Laughridge too k the win , foll o wed by Shimizu. In the second mo to, it was La ughridge's tu rn to go down in the firs t turn. This left ' Shimizu in the lead followed by Harris. On q th e second lap , Ha rris got impatient and ju m ped her Honda in to Shimizu's rear wheel and cras hed hard.
