Frank, Kala s an d Beier bl asted into the top three at the start of mota two while Manley was left on the ground. Manley picked himsell up and began to ride quite wildl y for the next several laps. Kalas assumed th e lead o n th e second lap after passin g Frank. Once out front Kala s kept Frank in check and waited for him to tire out. Kala s' strategy worked because Frank did fatigue and Kalas scooted away to the win . Manley was on ~ . rampage a nd reeled in Beier a nd passed him late in the mo ta for third. Frank continued to maintain his second place position but Manley was clos ing fast until the rear wheel. on his Honda exploded and all the spokes ri p p ed away from the h u b , lea vi n g the machine u nrid eable. SInOSted two classes, the 17-24 A and 250cc A divisions at ~pring Creek MX Park. This was the first event o( the year at the track and 597 riders signed up to fling their bikes up and down the John Martinprepped track. ofdenberg led the 250cc A class around the sw..,ping first turn as mota one began. Bryan Hunt settled into second while Oldenberg stretched out a sizeable lead. Cory Keeney dispatched Hunt on the second lap and tried to reel in the leader. Oldenberg seemed to be in control of the mota, but nearing the end of the ra"" he slacked off his pa"" enough for Keeney to noticeable gain. On the last lap Oldenberg stalled in a tight turn with Keeney diving into the lead. Keeney went on for the win with Oldenberg restarting to salvage second place. Dan Luloff was third after a good ride through traffic. Hunt held fourth over Lee Erickson with Duane Kuiken sixth. On"" again Oldenberg led the charge to the first turn as the gate dropped for the second mota with K..,ney and Kuiken following him. Keeney was determined to get to the front of the Pack, but Oldenberg wasn't about to surrender the lead and he held on to win despite Keeney's pressure for many laps. At the checkered they had a large lead over third pia"" Kuiken. Lee Erickson, Marty Clark and . Chad Curiningham followed runn er -up Keeney across the finish line. Brad Erickson charged hard in to th e lead in the first Plus 25 moto with Dan Luloff closing rapidly. Luloff bliued by on the next lap while Erickson fell under attack by HunL Hunt was looking strong and actually closed in on the leader after relegating Erickson to third near the midpoint of the mota.
