INSIDE Letiersto the editor Special people I would lik e to thank Rick Campbell of Double Cross Racing for taking the . time to help me when I was in a bind. At a Double Cross event in San Bernardino. California, on April 28, I dislocated my shoulder and was taken to the hospital and not released until 8 p.m. There was nobody at the races with me, but Rick and his Double Cross staff loaded my bik e and gear into my truck and Rick took it to h is home where I picked it up the following day. A special thanks to some special people. Dean Teague Riverside. CA ATTN: ISDE Intent riders The Trask Mountain Two-Day Trial has an entry problem. In an attempt to resolve it, we are asking for your help. Briefly, we lim ited the even t to 400 riders in 1991 after discussions concerning course co nsidera tions with those individuals who own or administrate the lands we use. The entry quickly filled . and we find ourselves with a number of Letter of Intent rid ers who need to ent er our event in order to qualify for the ISDE team going to Czechoslovakia. We have no numbers to give them , as th e Schedule I (Letter of Intent and Expert) slots are completely gone. So , what we are asking is that any Schedule I rider (again, either Letter of Intent or Expert) who has entered our event and discovers, for whatever reason , that he.or she is unable to ride. . please notify Carl Mendenhall at 5031 472-6567. We will refund their entry fee and thank them profusely. And some lucky rid er may get a cha nce to ride in Czechosl ovakia. Dennis Bershaw Secretary Trask Mountain M.C. McMinnville. OR Disappointed race fan On May 19, I went to th e San ta Clara Cou n ty Fairgro unds to watch the San J ose Mile. I left very upset, after a long day and a long trip, plus the expense of everythi ng involved (tra nsporta tion , tickets, parking, etc.). T he day was probably th e " stra w that broke th e camel 's back ," to coin a phrase. (Camel . as in Camel Pro.) They didn't even run the Junior main event, apparently stating that the tra ck was not safe. It really wasn 't safe to run the Experts either (they were the ones doing all the falling). Fair is fair. and if some of th e Juniors felt the track was da nger ous, they should have had the opportunity to race or not to race. Whoever makes th ese decisions should think of bein g fair to on e and all. The bottom line is all the Experts were once Juniors, and th ey had their days of glory. I will con tin ue to enj oy th e races. but full y inte nd to com p lai n if I co nt inue to see such unfairn ess. I'm tired of seeing the Junior riders treated differently from th e Experts. and I'm not a lone. Bev Hughes Stockton, CA Leiters to the editor should be sent to: Voices. Cycle Nn»!, P.O.
