for th e lead. Buntin crashed o ut of contention
whil e Tracy Asher fill ed the th ird spot. Allen

Over 20 riders plowed through the fir st turn
at the start of the firs t 125cc Begin ner first
moto. During th e firs t lap it was a bi t frenzied
as riders locked bar s, cras hed and swapped
out of control, while sorting themselves o ut.
Steve Cortevill e ass umed th e lead early on and
held it to the checkered Ilag followed by Tom
McLaugh lin and Bobb y Hall. Randy Lippie
made an admirable ch ar ge from the back of
th e pack 10 well inside th e top 10.
