Naumec, who refused knee surgery early in the season, said, " T he kn ee felt good today, but it got a lillie tired at the end. I thin k th e bike was overheating as well." McElroy explained his return for the win. " When I took the lead, I panicked and started losing co ncentr a tio n . When Naumec got by , I took it easy, found some good lines, a nd passed him back. I saw Dowd co m ing up lat er , but I know I didn't have La beat him. " The 125cc Expert class featured Lusk, Ferry a nd Barton taking shifts in th e lead. Barton , who to pped the firs t mota a nd overall said, " Lusk was fast o n the clay section, but I had a n advantage in th e sandy part." Ferry rode a £lawless secon d mo to for second overa ll. McElro y used two 250cc Expert mot a wins to tu ne up for his Pro race o n Sunday. He said, " I got good starts, b ut knew that Anthony Pagg io was back th ere. I wanted th e kid to come up a nd ra ce with me." Paggi o explained, I was up with Bria n at the sta rt, but he he ld the outs ide for th e lead a nd set a fast pace. The 85cc (12-13) du el between Kevin Windham and Robbie Skaggs resumed in ea rnest, with Wi nd ha m ta king a pair of wins. Kenn y Ya h a a nd J a so n Sybert worked on Greg Rand in th e 85cc (1415) class. Sybert used a lapped ri der 10 pass Rand in mot a one , but Rand rega in ed the fron t in mot o two, wi th Yoh o seco nd overall. Lusk looked unbea tabl e in the l 25cc Youth class, bu t Ferry kep t th e pressu re o n a nd took advantage o f a L usk m iscu e for the wi n. Kevin Night drove all th e wa y from Panama City 10 ea rn his first 500cc B win of the yea r, upstaging Christian Smith and Rodney Ohr. Knight said, Vince DeVane (106) leads the first 250cc Pro moto, followed by Carl Vaillancourt, Brian McElroy (71) and the field .
