This track is tighter than what I am used to in Europe, but it is every bit as rough." " Near the end of the race Kyle looked like he was starting to get tired, I followed his li nes since I could hardly remember the track, then I made my move on the last lap," Schmit said. " Kyle was riding good so I got a little wild and passed him on a fast outside sweepe r. He could have rammed me but he rode clean and didn't take me out." Schmit, accu stomed to riding a l25cc machine, adapted well to the borrowed Pro Circuit-prepared Suzuki RM250 and scored a well-earned win in the first 250cc Pro moto after a wild, finallap pass on Kyle Lewis. Schmit stormed back to dominate moto two , after Lewis slowed with a broken fork. Lewis was also entered in the 125cc Pro class and won both motos with apparent ease over Mike Chamberlain and Allan Dyck. Located in the southern sector of the Mohave Desert , LACR is renowned as a dusty, whooped-filled sand track, But Lewis followed Schmit to the finish line followed by Manneh in third and Chamberlain in fourth. Manneh briefly led the second moto but was quickly displaced by Schmit and Lewis.
