MOTOGP FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 2 / JULY 24-26, 2020 CIRCUITO DE JEREZ – ANGEL NIETO / JEREZ, SPAIN P50 In Moto2, Enea Bastianini (Italtrans Racing Team Kalex) put on a dominant display for his first-ever class victory ahead of round- one winner, Luca Marini (Sky VR46 Kalex) and his teammate, Marco Bezzecchi. Moto3 saw 2019 Jerez GP winner Tatsuki Suzuki (SIC58 Squadra Corsa Honda) come out on top of a bruising seven-rider fight for his first win of the season from John McPhee (Petronas Sprinta Honda) and Celestino Vietti (Sky VR46 KTM). And, finally, MotoE saw a first-time winner in Dominique Aegert- er (Dynavolt Intact GP Energica) as the Swiss took the flag ahead of Jordi Torres (Pons Racing 40 Energica) and Mattia Casadei (Ongetta SIC58 Squadra Corsa Energica). IIIMY OWN RACE: 9 DANILO PETRUCCI DNF MOTOGP "I am sorry about how the race went today because we could have got a good result," Danilo Petrucci said. "I did not ex- pect the crash also because I don't think I was doing a risky maneuver: probably the res were already worn out and I dared too much. I was chasing Dovizioso when I suddenly slid out at turn two. Now my goal is to get back figh ng for the top posi ons, and I hope to be able to do so already in the next race, on a race track a li le more favorable to the characteris cs of our Duca ." 20 FABIO QUARTARARO 1ST MOTOGP "It was a tough race," MotoGP winner Fa- bio Quartararo said. "To complete 25 laps in front in these temperatures made it the hardest race of my life! My hands and feet were so hot and there was just no air to cool you down. I felt really good on the bike though. Even though we are at the same circuit as last week, the condi ons are different, and we had to adapt so quickly to this. The first me I saw the gap to Val- en no [Rossi] was 0.6 seconds, I thought that it was me to push. Then on one lap I looked back in turn six and couldn't believe the advantage that I had pulled out. At this point I knew I had to keep calm and just finish the race. It was also amazing to be on the podium with Valen no because he has been my idol for so long."
