NOV. 18 Mike Chamb erlain foll owed a differen t rid er to the finish line in both motos but still scored the overall win in the l25cc Pro class a t Don Brow n 's Glen Helen MX. The compe titio n was fierce in the I 25cc Pro class and the top th ree riders were wit h in a coup le of bike lengths at the linish li ne in both mote s. In the firs t rnot o J oel Albrech t grabbed the holeshot, wh ile hot on hi s heels were Cham ber lai n , T odd Cam pbe ll a nd Dusti n Evan s. Evans put h is Suzuki in hi gh gear and rocketed arou nd Ca mpbell and was closing in on Chamb erlai n. But as he came through the esses, his motorcycle lost fire. retirin g Evans from the mo ta . Campbell, meanwhile, closed the gap on Chamberla in a nd both riders tucked in behind Alb rech t, as the trio encou nt ered la p ped tra ffic, Ca mpbell dogged Cha mber lai n a nd took advantage of him. when Chamberlain wen t outside 01 a lapper. Ca mpbell dove to the inside li ne and too k over second place as the wh ite flag came out. The ac tion was as inten se on the last lap. as it was a t the stafl and the trio crossed the finis h lin e in a blur, as each rider took a diHerem line comi ng out 01 the last corne r. At the linish it was Albrecht by a wheel length over Ca mpbell, who was less tha n half a bike len gt h ahead of Chamberlai n. The second ma IO saw Evans rocket in to the front 01 the pac k, with Albrecht , Ca mp bell, Gary Sailo rs and Cha mber lain in lOW. By the end 01 lap two, Evans ha d built up a thr ee second- lead, while second was bein g contes ted between Albrecht and Campbell. . Cha m berla in jammed his way past Campbell aod moved into secood Campbell. however. didn 't gi ve up.
