The cou rse sits within the rodeo arena and is larger than a typical short track. The first night of actio n the track was fast and hard. Local talent was plentiful and the most successfu l of these was expert Ritchie. When the gree n light came on in the fina l, there were seven starts that ha d to be call ed back with the red flag . Two of the seven starts were ca lled back for sp ills in the first corner, four restarts were for false starts and the final recall was due to a major tangle in turn three. When the green light flashed for the last ti me, .ma intaining a n earlie r lead was Ritchie.
