These included Doriano Romboni, Dirk Raudies, Stefan Prein, and Adi Stadler, a ny o ne o f whom m i gh t b e lower than fi fth the n ext time round. But it was Spaan who h ad the lion's snare o f leading , while Prein ga there d stre ngth to wards the end o f the race.
